CAASPP 2017 Smarter Balanced Assessment

General Information

ABC Unified will participate in the Smarter Balanced Assessment System, a new computer-based educational testing program which replaced the state’s STAR tests. The Smarter Balanced CAASPP 2017 Test window for ABC Unified will be April 3, 2017- June 15, 2017 for students in 3-8th and 11th grade!


Participation

The CAASPP 2017 Test is to be administered in accordance with the following student participation expectations:

  • For grades 3 through 8, all students will participate.

  • For grade 11, all students will participate.

 

The only students exempt from participating in the  CAASPP 2016-2017  are:

  1. Students who will participate in the California Alternate Performance Assessment (CAPA); and

  2. English–language arts field test only, English learners who have been attending school in the United States for less than 12 months.

 

Update on CAST Field Test 2017

ABC will Administer will administer the pilot versions of the California Science Test (CAST) and California Alternate Assessment (CAA) for Science as part of the 2016–17 CAASPP administration. The pilots will include an assigned high school grade as well as grades five and eight. The high school grade assignments are now available on the CAASPP Portal High School Grade Assignments for 2016–17 Science Pilot Testing Web page.
