E.X.T.R.A. (Expanded Time to Raise Achievement)
In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), ABC Unified School District and its after school partners; Action Youth America (AYA) and the YMCA of Greater Long Beach will take all precautions recommended by the state, county, and public health agencies to prevent and contain COVID-19 from spreading during EXTRA after school program hours.
The EXTRA after school program is located at Elementary and Middle Schools within the ABC Unified School District. The EXTRA program is funded by the After School Education and Safety (ASES) Grant, from the state of California. ABCUSD partners with Action Youth America (AYA) and the YMCA of Greater Long Beach to provide rich and engaging programs.
The goal of the EXTRA program is to positively impact student achievement by integrating standards-based instruction with creative after school programming that ensures continuous quality improvement. Activities and services are age and developmentally appropriate and support the cultural, linguistic, economic, and other special needs of the children and families being served.
