Safely Reopening Schools
BRINGING STUDENTS AND STAFF BACK TO SCHOOL SAFELY
State and county public health officials will inform the district when it is safe to bring students and staff back into schools for in-person instruction. Currently, ABCUSD is working on plans to begin in-person instruction in the hybrid model when deemed safe by public health officials. Return to this page as we will be posting updates.
The ABCUSD COVID Compliance Team created the Reopening Schools Safely Plan. This comprehensive plan was created with recommendations from federal, state, and county public health officials. School sites will have plans that address the unique needs of their campuses, adhering to the Los Angeles County Public Health Protocols for K-12 Schools.
On February 1, 2021, ABCUSD submitted plans for the State of California's Safe Schools for All reopening program. This program notes that schools may reopen only under certain conditions. The initial plans were presented to ABCUSD parent and employee groups, and have been submitted to the appropriate state and county departments.
