Hispanic/Latino/a/x Student Essay Contest
Open to all secondary (middle & high school), the District Diversity, Unity and Equity Committee has launched an essay contest. Contest theme: "Hispanics Driving Prosperity, Power and Progress." Posters and fliers were delivered to middle and high schools last week- please post, distribute to students, and consider any intentional ways for students to work with teachers in preparing their submissions. Students have three options for submission: a written essay, a video essay, or a poster design. We are grateful for our partnership with the ABC Education Foundation, who is sponsoring cash prizes for the top three essay contest submissions. Submission deadline: October 23. Select student submissions will be placed on display in the district office. We are also asking that elementary schools send any student work samples to the district office to be displayed.
