The ABC Unified School District Board of Education’s School Facilities Capacities and Declining Enrollment Ad Hoc Committee will hold two town hall meetings to get the community’s input regarding the potential consolidation of schools. The Committee has been meeting since May 17, 2023, with charge to prioritize issues of declining enrollment and efficient use of facilities.
At the December 13, 2023, Committee meeting, and after looking at a wide range of data, the Committee decided to look at six potential schools to consider for potential consolidation. The Committee will provide a report with recommendations, including possible school consolidation, to the ABCUSD Board of Education in the spring. The Board will determine if any schools are to be consolidated at that time.
As part of its fact-finding process, the Committee wants input from students, families, staff, and the community and will hold two town hall meetings.
