Choosing the Best Education
In today’s Information Age, parents are becoming increasingly aware of the many choices afforded them in regard to their children’s education. We know that you want your child to receive the highest quality education available. Read on, and discover how ABC Unified School District’s Magnet Schools are affecting children in our community.
What is a Magnet School?
A Magnet School is one that is chosen by its district to “specialize” in a chosen field or two. Magnet Schools were developed so that children who show aptitude or interest in certain areas such as math, science, engineering, computer science, or the arts have a place to develop those interests to prepare for college. All magnet schools provide programs that are aligned with the California Core Content Standards.
Magnet Schools are available to families residing inside or outside of the ABCUSD boundaries. Families are welcome to apply for their children to attend one of our outstanding magnet schools.
Are you interested in attending a Magnet school in the 2020-21 school year? You can apply to attend any of our schools through the Schools of Choice lottery. Apply for Schools of Choice anytime during the month of March. Beginning on March 1st, click on the link on the ABCUSD homepage. Applications will be accepted until March 31st.
Note: Special Education services are offered at all District magnet schools. However, some specific Special Education services may not be offered at all magnet school sites. For further information, visit the Special Education page. For all education-related programs and services, contact:
