Artesia High School Teacher Named National Finalist for Teaching Excellence Award
ABC Unified School District is proud to share that Artesia High School automotive instructor Mr. Marty Supple has been named a finalist for the 2026 Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence, a national award recognizing outstanding Career Technical Education (CTE) educators.
Mr. Supple is one of only 50 finalists selected from across the United States for the prestigious award, which honors public high school teachers who prepare students for careers in technical and hands-on professions.
As the instructor of Artesia High School's Automotive Career Technical Education program, Mr. Supple provides students with real-world learning experiences that help them build technical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and career readiness. Through hands-on instruction and industry-focused coursework, students gain valuable experience while exploring career opportunities in the automotive industry.
“Mr. Supple's dedication to students and hands-on learning has made a lasting impact on our school community,” said Artesia High School Principal Sergio Garcia. “This recognition is well deserved, and we are proud to celebrate this achievement.”
“This recognition reflects the outstanding opportunities available to students through our Career Technical Education programs,” said ABCUSD Superintendent Dr. Gina Zietlow. “Mr. Supple's dedication helps students discover their passions, develop valuable skills, and prepare for success after high school.”
The Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence recognizes exceptional educators who help students develop the knowledge and skills needed for future careers. Winners will be announced later this year.
Mr. Supple’s recognition highlights ABCUSD’s ongoing commitment to providing innovative, career-connected learning experiences that prepare students for college, career, and life after graduation.
Congratulations to Mr. Supple on this outstanding national recognition!
