Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 Information

The ABC Unified School District is in regular contact with public health officials and we are monitoring the impact of the novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19. You can find out more information on our webpage on this issue. This page will be updated frequently with the latest information.

Temporary Internet Services and Computer Devices for Home

The School District has determined that approximately 5% of ABC students do not have Internet service or a computer device at home. ABC's Online Learning at Home program requires that each student have access to basic Internet, and a computer device, laptop, Chromebook, or iPad.

Teacher Interview Event

UPDATE: Due to the closing of the District office, the Teacher Interview Event for 2020 has been postponed, therefore no paper applications will be accepted for elementary positions.

Elementary and Secondary Teaching Position applications will be accepted until March 27, 2020 through Edjoin.org.

Gahr High School Marching Gladiators Win State Championship

The Gahr High School marching band, the Marching Gladiators, was awarded the California State Band Championship for Division 5A and Divisions 4A/5A/6A on Saturday, November 23rd. The Marching Gladiators performed “The Joy of Painting” for judges and audience on the field at Huntington Beach High School.

Mental Health Professionals in All ABCUSD Schools

The ABC Unified School District has taken a bold step to meet the growing need of its students’ overall health by placing mental health professionals at every school site. A total of 34 mental health professionals will be placed in the District’s schools, with one at each elementary school and at Tracy High School, and two each at the three comprehensive high schools.

Two ABC Schools Selected for National Blue Ribbon

Two ABCUSD schools have been selected for the 2019 National Blue Ribbon Schools Award. They include Gonsalves Elementary School and Leal Elementary School in Cerritos. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student groups.
