A profile of our Summer School Prep Program for middle and high school students.

the ABC Middle School and High School summer what programs are designed as Extended Learning opportunities for incoming 7th and 9th graders they are designed to help students transition to either the middle or High School level by offering Innovative and engaging lessons during the summer break just right away Stand Out is how prepared students wear for riding down in their agenda planners the medical condition of hey you know this is do I should probably write this down in a serving of the building to turn that into it a habit over the summer play beneficial I think and it's shown in our students or students that participate in Middle School prep more quickly adjusted to using the agenda planner than students that we're coming straight to middle school without attending but the part we agree or disagree and that usually there be a lot of people agreeing and I was hoping to be one of the people that disagree and that I did explain why let's give you a part of you like to express so I called the reason says because of that and that the second part is like how would I go back to the text and say all in this weird to say this picture go to the phrase and and how I got that my goal was to develop a cross curricular project between math and art they were doing fractions so I wanted to pull that into our our project we did a radial design and it was a fun Outlet in the summer for them some of these kids don't get bar so it was nice but I'm going to take him a final project the goal for science was to create excitement around science and engineering and also to expose them to the curriculum that they'll be receiving in middle school that way they can have some basic science skills and have them completely ready for Middle I didn't ask questions like I was scared of asking questions when we watch the video Dojo like I got interested on it and I start asking questions and that's when I still got more like information from the picture so when is activity like I knew what I was saying it was. That's the kind of questions I had to figure it out and then if I still didn't get it I'll ask question students receive support with broad academic skills that they will need to be successful at the next full moon for example an emphasis on expository writing in various content areas the program is not designed to emphasize content knowledge or fill Gap but rather to help students develop core skills and an active confidence that they can apply broadly throughout their Student Life students also have the opportunity to work on social emotional skills with support from a school social worker these supports prepare students for teenage Campus Life covering areas such as relationship-building self-care Stress Management and conflict resolution they learned that doing well and being well in school are interrelated I'm at the school social worker it was my role to support the students and social emotional most social emotional needs that were transitioning from 6th to 7th grade as well as our continued 8th graders and the kids I saw you are transitioning into 7 trade in that comes with more classes more pressure more homework and so that alone comes with more stress I'm in a lot of times our kids aren't equipped and ready to know how to deal with that stress so stop kind of one of those things that we worked on as well Summer Prep student connect with students and staff from their new campuses as they engage in fun and enriching activities Hands-On Art and Science experiences are delivering an intentionally fun active and supportive environment in order to create a positive first experience on campus ABC school and implementing this program is to allow our at-risk students an opportunity I need to experience a multi-faceted proactive Support Program prior to their first day at a new school fees in the great transition and setting up the student for success
