District Diversity, Unity and Equity Committee (DUE)

On September 8, 2020, ABC USD Board of Education voted to establish The Social Justice Task Force Board Advisory Committee, later renamed the Diversity Unity and Equity Board Advisory Committee (DUE).

Vision Statement: Maintain outstanding student achievement and enhance the quality of education for all students through equity and social justice.”

Educational Equity Defined: Educational equity means that EACH child receives what they need to develop to their full academic and social potential. Transformative equity leadership aims to challenge the status quo, change oppressive structures, and promote empowerment for traditionally underserved students. Ensuring educational equity is a necessary component in narrowing the achievement gap. Equity-focused change in schools involves examining and differentiating curriculum, instruction, assessment, system structures, system procedures, and resource allocation to respond to the diverse needs of ALL students so that they can learn and thrive.

What We Value (ABC Academic Services): To ensure that all students achieve academically, socially, and emotionally, Academic Services will enhance and build equitable structures and processes to capacitate the adults who directly serve and support ABC Unified students and families.
